About Old Forester Rye

Old Forester Straight Rye Whisky marries tradition with innovation, taking inspiration from historic rye recipes while imparting its own distinctive character. Made with a high rye mash bill, it has a bold, spicy flavor profile with underlying sweetness from corn. On the richer side for a rye, it makes an excellent Old Fashioned or Manhattan while also shining in creative rye cocktails.

Tasting Notes for Old Forester Rye

Prominent aromas of fresh grain, rye spice and golden raisins lead to a more rich, rounded palate than expected from a rye. Notes of baking spices, butterscotch and dried fruit with a long, smoothly spiced finish.

Suggested Serves

A strong yet versatile base spirit for cocktails. Use in place of bourbon in an Old Fashioned. Also stands up well in a Boulevardier or Manhattan.

Production Notes

Distilled from a high rye mash bill. aged in new, charred American oak barrels for a bolder, richer style of rye.
